01 / Universal

Every install.

These six things apply to every job we run, regardless of the appliance. Have them squared away and we can usually be in and out without a second trip.

/ 01
Adult Home

Someone 18 or older must be on-site for the duration of the install. We can't leave the home unattended mid-job.

/ 02
Clear Path

From the truck to the install location — driveway, walkway, doorways, hallways. 36" of clearance minimum, more for larger units.

/ 03
Working Utilities

Water, gas, and electrical at the install location need to be live and accessible. If shut-offs are old or seized, let us know in advance.

/ 04
Old Unit Ready

The old appliance should be empty, defrosted (if applicable), and accessible. Disconnection and haul-away are included.

/ 05
Parking

Our van needs a legal spot within reasonable walking distance. Permits or guest passes are the homeowner's responsibility.

/ 06
Pets Secured

For their safety and ours. Doors will be open. Tools, hoses, and appliance parts will be on the floor for stretches of time.

02 / By Appliance

What each install needs.

We handle dishwashers, wall ovens, cooktops, microwaves, and range hoods directly. Specific requirements for each are below — pay attention to anything tagged for your state.

2-Minute Walkthrough

See a prep-ready kitchen before we knock.

Our team walks through every dishwasher requirement on this page — the shut-off valve, the outlet, the air gap, the hose routing — so you can compare your kitchen to a ready one.

California: pay close attention to the air gap segment — it's required, and we can't complete the install without one. Oregon: the air gap is optional in your state, but the valve and routing checks still apply to your install.

Your free dishwasher installation covers a standard hookup. If your plumbing, cabinetry, or electrical needs adjusting to accept it, you're welcome to hire your own contractor — or our team can complete it at the rates above.

Dishwasher

Plumbed
  • Water shut-off valve at the sink — working, leak-free, rust-free, and accessible. We can't use the home's main shutoff for a basic install; if the valve isn't working, replacement is available as an extra.
  • CADedicated 120V outlet required in the cabinet bay.
  • ORDedicated 120V outlet or hardwire in the cabinet bay — either is acceptable.
  • CAAir gap required — we cannot install without one. Must be present and not leaking.
  • ORAir gap optional — not required to complete the install, but recommended.
  • Air gap routing — hose must run from the disposal upward, never downward.
  • Hoses and cord cannot run under the house or under the cabinets — routing through cabinets is fine, as long as it stays visible when the cabinet doors are open.
  • Cabinet opening at least 24" wide, 24" deep, 34" tall, with a level base.

Wall Oven
Wall Oven
240V Electric
  • Cabinet cutout matching the new oven exactly — width, height, and depth.
  • 240V hardwire or outlet in the cabinet bay below or beside the cutout.
  • Cabinet support strength — built-in ovens are heavy. Reinforcement may be needed.
  • Removal access — old oven slides forward with at least 30" of clear floor.

Cooktop
Cooktop
Gas / 240V
  • Counter cutout matching the new cooktop spec exactly.
  • Gas line with shut-off in the cabinet below (gas units) or 240V supply (induction / electric).
  • Cabinet depth sufficient for the unit's protrusion below the counter.
  • Downdraft venting pre-installed if the unit requires it.

Mounted
  • Cabinet above the range with a 120V outlet inside.
  • Studs or solid backing behind the mounting location.
  • 30" or 36" range below — confirms unit width compatibility.
  • Exhaust routing — recirculating, external rear, or external top vent.
  • Mounting plate shipped with the new unit (standard).

Wall / Under-Cabinet
  • 120V outlet in the cabinet above (under-cabinet hoods) or behind the hood location (wall-mounted).
  • Studs or solid backing at the mounting points — wall-mounted hoods need real support.
  • Cabinet width match — under-cabinet hoods need a 30" or 36" cabinet that matches the hood spec.
  • Exhaust ducting routed to the exterior, or recirculating-ready if the unit is ductless.
  • Clearance above cooktop — typically 24"–30", per the hood's manufacturer spec.
